For a change of pace, let's leave comments on this one unscreened. If you want to do things screened, I don't mind getting Kosuzu crit over at Napstablook's! Or vice versa! Or I can screen/unscreen things on request! I don't even have a preference I just thought screening these was standard.

I will say I'm a bit uneasy starting out, here, because I honestly do think that the whole jamjar situation should freak Kosuzu out a bit more than things usually do in canon. (Because things do also freak her out in canon sometimes; it depends on the circumstances, and these are extreme circumstances.) I'm not terribly confident about striking a balance on that. It should even out in time, both as she settles in and I get more used to playing her, but in the meantime if you've got feedback I'd be happy to hear it.

Canon Name: Kosuzu Motoori (apropos of nothing that's moto-ori, not motōri)
Work Name: Isabel (because bells...)
Canon: Touhou Project, specifically the Forbidden Scrollery manga of which she is the main character.

Appearance: Teenagey girl? Nobody has canon ages in Touhou, it's an age-old mystery. She has red hair and red eyes, but that's the anime kind of coloration where there's nothing weird about red eyes. Typically wears her hair partly in twintails with bells in. Note that some icons will show her with glasses, but these are reading glasses, she doesn't generally wear them out and about.

Abilities: Kosuzu's main superpower is the ability to read any writing regardless of language. This is not going to matter much in a jamjar where everything's translated anyway. However, her ability has advanced to a point where she can divine extra information from writing, if there's a magical aura to read or something? It's not clear how exactly that works but I'm saying it only applies if the writing is magical, so it still won't come up much. I think that if your character is sufficiently youkai-like/inhuman, their writing should inherently have a faint trace of energy, but not enough to matter greatly even to this girl.

Occupation/s: used book store used book store so much of her salary is going right back into the store
Room: 009, so her roommates are Ganymede, Asuka, Ryoji, Elizabeth, and Deimonea. Hope you guys like tripping over books that then bite you!
Inventory: Nothing of note yet, but...

Physical Contact: Sure, I mean, within reason.
Violence: She has no ability to defend herself whatsoever! Why would you do this! But, all right, things happen, so if it really comes up let's talk about it.
Other hijinks: You bet
Any IC boundaries or warnings or whatever? Not really. Well, she's a bit monster racist, but that's an important part of her canon's setting, it's not her fault.
Or OOC ones? Nah.

If there's anything else you need, comments on this entry are screened!

Reading List

Miscellaneous documents Kosuzu has managed to find somewhere or other. Who leaves these things just lying around?

πŸ“œ Soul Data Storage Media Instruction Manual
It's hard to tell whether this is a guide to something magical or something technological.

πŸ“œ Magician's Business Card
Wood Signγ€ŒMight of the Pen」

πŸ“œ A Greek Myth
The tale of a hapless woman who was turned into a cow and tormented, written in the first person.

πŸ“œ Displaced Soul's Note
Half of it is in terrible shape, dirtied and damaged; the other half is pristine.

πŸ“œ A Painful Manifesto
This isn't a youma book and has no worth to anyone.

πŸ“œ Dubious Fairytale
The story keeps repeating itself, which can make it hard to get through. But the number on the front seems to change every time you look at it...

πŸ“œ Bottled Love Letter
That's a little too long-distance for a long-distance relationship. How does he write with fins on?

πŸ“œ Loyal Demon's Comedy
Childish writing describes a day in the life of two young siblings. It's not particularly funny.

πŸ“œ A Recipe For Apple Pie
The content is completely ordinary, but it's still a youma book.

πŸ“œ Phantasmal Sheet Music
Has a morose aura and stained paper. Kosuzu's ability doesn't extend to knowing how the music would sound.
